Covid-19 - From 16.03.2020 the surgery is offering a total triage service for GP/ANP Appointments. Please contact the surgery and your details will be added to the clinicians daily triage list. The clinician will telephone between 8am - 6.30pm - If you require a call back within a set time frame please make the staff member aware when booking your triage appointment. If the clinician needs to see you face to face they will arrange this with you during your call. Pre-bookable appointments are available. Please ensure you let us know your correct contact details when booking and also a brief description. The clinician will call in order of clinical priority.
Patients with Covid-19 or with symptoms who need to be seen by a clinician will be asked to attend the surgery via the rear entrance for the safety of others.
Practice Nurse & Healthcare Assistant appointments are by appointment only.
Engage Connect Services:
We are delighted to announce a new Online Consultation service for our patients using Engage Consult. Use out Online Consultation System to let us know about your medical problem - and also to ask our admin team a question. This service is for non-medically urgent advice and guidance.
Extended Access Appointments
We are increasing the number of appointments available for you to speak with or see a GP / Advance Nurse Practitioner or Practice Nurse at weekends.
Depending on your individual circumstances and symptoms, we may offer you an "extended access" appointment. Please note however, that these appointments will not be in your usual GP practice and may not be with one of your usual GPs or Nurses.
Depending on the reason for your appointment, and if you are in agreement, it may be suitable for you to see and Advanced Nurse Practitioner, instead of a GP.
The clinician you see will be able to access relevant sections of your medical notes and will communicate what has happened during your appointment back to your usual GP practice.
These appointments will be available at the following locations:
Charnwood Surgery - 39 Linkfield Road, Mountsorrel, Loughborough, Leicester. LE12 7DJ
If you would like to know more please speak to a member of the practice reception team.
The doctors, nurses and other staff who work within our practice recognise the sensitive nature of intimate examinations. Patients of either sex may feel more comfortable with another person present whilst they are being examined.
You may wish to bring a friend or relative with you for your consultation or alternatively the practice can provide a fully trained chaperone for you (this could be a trained receptionist or member of the nursing team). Please let the doctor or nurse know if you require a chaperone.
In the event of a chaperone not being immediately available due to pressure of time or staff shortages it may be necessary to rearrange your appointment.
Any concerns regarding the conduct of an examination should be brought to the attention of a member of staff as soon as possible.
SMS Text Message Reminders
We send appointment reminders via a text message for all appointments (excluding telephone consultations). Please ensure we have your up to date mobile number to take advantage of this service.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
